What can we do about slugs?
|
- Barriers eg slug stoppa granules
- Look for their hiding places
- Organic slug pellets
- Raised beds with wood chip paths – they don’t like crawling on woodchip
- Hunt them after dark
- Slug Traps
- Copper tape (with serrated edge) is a good barrier
- Encourage birds – DON’T USE REGULAR SLUG PELLETS which are harmful to wildlife
- Hedgehogs In Balsall Heath

What do I do with slugs in my compost heap? It’s the eggs that I
don’t like the idea of when I’m spreading my freshly made compost in my
garden
Don’t usually do harm. Hot composting kills eggs. Keep hot with grass cuttings and turning
