This is a recipe Ruth learnt from Nishat. She made it for "Growing Words", using veg from her own allotment.
INGREDIENTS
- A mixture of thinly sliced, chopped veg (e.g. onion, spinach, potato)
- 2 or 3 chillies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- A handful of coriander leaves
- Gram flour (this is made from ground chickpeas)
METHOD
- Cover chopped veg with gram flour and mix.
- Leave for one hour to let water from veg soak up.
- Add more flour and enough cold water to form a thinck batter. (Be careful not to let it get too wet.)
- Deep fry tablespoonfuls of the mixture until they are golden and float.
- Eat and enjoy!
